Abstract

Zusammenfassung Die Wettbewerbspolitik der Europäischen Union ist deutlich klarer und wirksamer auf die Durchsetzung eines funktionsfähigen Wettbewerbs ausgerichtet als die entsprechenden Politiken der Mitgliedstaaten. Sie ist offensichtlich nicht so anfällig für den Druck organisierter Interessengruppen wie nationale Regierungen. Jedenfalls hat Kommission dem Druck aus manchen Mitgliedstaaten widerstanden, ihre Fusionskontrolle einem industriepolitischem Kalkül zu unterwerfen, und sie geht insbesondere bei der Subventionskontrolle weit über nationale Wettbewerbspolitiken hinaus. Sie folgt damit einem klaren ordnungspolitischen Kurs, der manchem nationalen Politiker zu wünschen wäre.
