Abstract

Zusammenfassung Das Erkennen und Verhüten von Gefahren und das Verfolgen von Straftaten bedarf im Interesse der Inneren Sicherheit der Kooperation aller dafür relevanten Kräfte und Institutionen. Zur Förderung bieten die Bundesregierung sowie die Europäische Kommission nun schon seit mehr als einem Jahrzehnt Forschungsrahmenprogramme an, die jeweils mit beträchtlichen Mitteln ausgestattet sind. Adressiert werden damit Wissenschaft, Wirtschaft und nicht zuletzt Sicherheitsbehörden, die als Teil der Projektkonsortien aktiv in die Planung und Durchführung von Projekten eingebunden sind. Sicherheitsbehörden haben sich bereits an vielen solcher Projekte erfolgreich beteiligt und dabei relevante Fördermittel erhalten. Es besteht nach wie vor Verbesserungsbedarf, damit noch mehr innovative Lösungen aus Forschungsprojekten auch den Weg zu den Endanwendern finden.
