Abstract

Zusammenfassung Das Projektmanagement hat sich in den letzten Jahren in den Polizeien etabliert. Zuerst wird der Zusammenhang zwischen Projektmanagement und Projekterfolg dargelegt. Anschließend werden ausgewählte Aspekte des Projektmanagements betrachtet, nämlich die Anwendung von Projektmanagementstandards, die Projektsteuerung, die Projektmanagementkompetenzen der Projekt-Teams sowie die Wirtschaftlichkeitsanalysen. Im Ergebnis zeigt sich bei den Projektmanagementstandards ein sehr heterogenes Bild. Zudem zeigen sich Potenziale bei der Projektsteuerung insbesondere bei der Meilensteinplanung, der Personalsteuerung und den Risiko-Analysen. Obwohl die Polizeien über qualifiziertes Personal verfügen, gibt es Hinweise auf fehlende Projektenmanagementkompetenzen beim eingesetzten Personal. Notwendige Wirtschaftlichkeitsbetrachtungen erfolgten vielfach nicht. Abschließend werden Empfehlungen für die Weiterentwicklung des Projektmanagements bei den Polizeien der Länder und des Bundes abgeleitet.
