Abstract

Zusammenfassung Im folgenden Beitrag wird aufgezeigt, welche Anstrengungen unternommen wurden, um den immens gewachsenen Herausforderungen durch TerrorismusTerrorismus und Kriminalität zu begegnen. Ist unsere Polizei auf diese elementaren Probleme unserer Zeit vorbereitet? Besitzt sie die erforderlichen Rezepte zu deren Lösung? Stimmen die äußeren Rahmenbedingungen für die Bediensteten und deren persönliche Einstellungen zu ihrem dienstlichen Auftrag noch mit den unabdingbaren Erfordernissen zum Schutz unseres Staates und seiner Bürger überein? Zentrale Fragen dieser Art muss sich die Polizei stellen und beantworten. Dabei steht und fällt alles mit der Einstellung des Staates und der Bürger gegenüber ihrer Polizei sowie deren ureigensten, seit Preußen gewachsenen und tradierten internen Strukturen.
