Abstract

Zusammenfassung Mit Blick auf die Interdependenz hegte man die Hoffnung auf eine rationale, wissenschaftsbasierte „Leitung der menschlichen Gesellschaft“. Gescheitert ist diese Hoffnung durch ungute Erfahrungen mit totalitären Regimen sowie mit der grundsätzlich nur begrenzten Wahrheitsfähigkeit aller Nationalökonomik und den Erkenntnissen der Chaos-Mathematik. Dennoch erwartet die Gesellschaft von Nationalökonomen weiterhin Vorschläge zum menschenwürdigeren Funktionieren der Wirtschaftswelt – zu erarbeiten mit wirtschaftstheoretischem, ökonometrischem und statistischem Wissen. Die Herausforderungen werden im Einzelnen näher behandelt: für den unsicheren Statistiker (vgl. Abschn. 2), für den unschlüssigen Nationalökonomen (vgl. Abschn. 3) und für den unkundigen Ökonometriker (vgl. Abschn. 4). Es folgt das Beispiel von Arbeitslosigkeit (vgl. Abschn. 5). Zum Schluss (vgl. Abschn. 6) bleibt alle Methodologie so, wie sie das Wissen um allokative und distributive Effizienz einer „Marktwirtschaftlichen Demokratie“ stützt.
