Abstract

Zusammenfassung Das Leben in Vietnam besteht nicht nur aus Karriere, Arbeiten und Geschäfte machen. Vielmehr ist es wichtig, das richtige Maß des Genusses zu finden. Vietnam bietet dafür viele Möglichkeiten. Es wäre schade, diese in den Monaten, Jahren oder Jahrzehnten des Aufenthaltes einfach so verstreichen zu lassen. Dies gilt im besonderen Maße für die Partner, die den Expat begleiten (Olga Hase-Bergen). Es ist wichtig, im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes anzukommen. Dabei hilft die Kulinarik, da die Liebe bekanntlich durch den Magen geht. Dass die Küche Vietnams einzigartig ist, soll sie an dieser Stelle des Buches nicht unterschlagen werden (Long Quang Phạm). Eine ganz besondere Situation entsteht indes, wenn man eine eigene Familie in Vietnam gründet und sozusagen direkten Familienanschluss zu einer vietnamesischen Großfamilie erhält (Borries Plass). Letztlich kommt es darauf an, sich auf das Land mit ganzem Herzen einzulassen (Andreas Stoffers). Einige abschließende Empfehlungen runden dieses Kapitel ab (Andreas Stoffers und Long Quang Phạm).
