Abstract

Zusammenfassung Dieses Kapitel liefert eine Analyse der Sparfähigkeit deutscher Haushalte auf Basis der Einkommens- und Verbrauchsstichprobe (EVS). Dabei wird sowohl auf die Entwicklung in den letzten Jahren sowie auf Unterschiede zwischen verschiedenen Einkommensgruppen eingegangen. Insgesamt zeigt sich, dass die Sparfähigkeit deutscher Haushalte im Durchschnitt zwar sehr hoch ist, Haushalte in der unteren Hälfte der Einkommensverteilung aber nur eingeschränkt sparfähig sind und kaum Rücklagen bilden. Basierend auf diesen Ergebnissen werden mögliche Wege zu einer Stärkung der Vermögensbildung aufgezeigt.
