Abstract

Zusammenfassung Die additive Fertigung umfasst eine Reihe von Fertigungsverfahren, bei denen durch schichtweises Auftragen von Material ein dreidimensionales Objekt gefertigt wird. In direkter Konkurrenz zu den additiven Methoden stehen die konventionellen Fertigungsverfahren, die entweder durch Abtragung oder Veränderung von Ausgangsmaterial die gewünschte Form erschaffen. Wenn bei der Herstellung ein Verlust von Ausgangsmaterial auftritt, dann wird der Begriff der subtraktiven Fertigung genutzt. Dieser Begriff unterstreicht die grundsätzliche Verschiedenheit der beiden Fertigungstechniken. In diesem Kapitel werden zunächst gängige konventionelle und additive Fertigungsverfahren beschrieben und dann im Folgenden miteinander verglichen. Dazu werden vergleichbare Eigenschaften der Verfahren abgeleitet sowie Vor- und Nachteile der verschiedenen Fertigungstechniken diskutiert.
