Abstract

Zusammenfassung Beim Standortmanagement handelt es sich um eine Art von „Königsdisziplin der Wirtschaftsförderung“. In einer Kombination von kreativem Nachdenken, lösungs- und konsensorientierter Kommunikation, systematischer Gestaltung von Entwicklungsprozessen und der Umsetzung und Evaluation konkreter Maßnahmen werden, im Idealfall, die Potenziale eines Wirtschaftsraums systematisch entfaltet und zudem Verbindungen zu bestehenden (über)regionalen Entwicklungen und Prozessen hergestellt bzw. ausgebaut. Obwohl es sich beim Standortmanagement nicht um die alleinige Aufgabe einer einzelnen Person oder Organisation handelt, kommt dabei den Akteuren aus dem Bereich der Wirtschaftsförderung eine Schlüsselstellung zu. Neben dem gezielten kreativen Entwickeln von Wirtschaftsräumen und der aktiven Ansiedlung externer Investoren fristete die Bestandspflege in der (fach-)öffentlichen Aufmerksamkeit eher ein Schattendasein. Dabei handelt es sich gerade bei der Bestandspflege um eine absolut notwendige Basisaufgabe von Wirtschaftsförderung.
