Abstract

Zusammenfassung In diesem Kapitel wird kurz die historische Entwicklung der Mietpolitik in Deutschland ab 1914 bis zur aktuellen Situation dargestellt. Insbesondere werden die aktuellen Maßnahmen in Berlin (wie beispielsweise das Mietdeckelgesetz, welches Anfang 2020 vom Berliner Abgeordnetenhaus beschlossen und im Frühjahr 2021 vom Bundesverfassungsgericht für nichtig erklärt wurde), beschrieben und die Wirkungen aus Sicht der Eigentümer, Vermieter und Mieter divers diskutiert. Anschließend werden weitere Regulierungsinstrumente, wie Milieuschutz, sozialer Wohnungsbau und steuerliche Maßnahmen, umrissen.
