Abstract

Zusammenfassung Das Lieferantenmanagement steht durch Krisen und Trends vor signifikanten Herausforderungen. Die weltweite Digitalisierung und der Drang nach immer schnelleren und neuen Innovationen zwingen Unternehmen ihre Strategie und traditionellen Leitbilder radikal zu verändern. Situationen, wie die Finanzkrise 2008 und die COVID-19-Pandemie 2019/2020, die zunehmende globale, und vor allem digitale, Vernetzung von Kunden, Lieferanten und Interessengruppen, die weltweite Vernetzung, sowie die damit einhergehende maximale Transparenz über einen Großteil der wertschöpfenden Aktivitäten innerhalb von weltumspannenden Lieferketten wirft die Frage nach der zukünftigen Generierung von Wettbewerbsvorteilen von produzierenden, Handels- aber auch Dienstleistungsunternehmen auf. In diesem Kontext kommt dem Lieferantenmanagement, also der Funktion, die die gesamte Wertekette steuert, über die gesamte Wertschöpfungstiefe hinweg eine wesentlich höhere Bedeutung zu als dies in den vergangenen Jahren der Fall war.
