Die Psychiatrie – haben wir den Mut für einen großen Schritt?

Abstract

Zusammenfassung Innerhalb von zehn Jahren stiegen die Fehlzeiten am Arbeitsplatz aufgrund psychischer Erkrankungen um 64,2 %. Längst haben psychische Diagnosen an Häufigkeit viele andere überholt. Parallel dazu fand in den Kliniken der Psychiatrie und Psychosomatik ein Bettenaufbau um 15 % (ca. Zehntsd.) statt. Die Frage nach der Versorgungsstruktur der Psychiatrie und Psychosomatik im Jahre 2030 ist gleichzeitig auch die Frage an die Gesellschaft, wie sie dieser Entwicklung begegnen und wie sie mit psychisch Erkrankten in ihrer Mitte umgehen will. Die Reaktion auf zunehmende psychische Erkrankungen darf und kann nicht eine Hospitalisierung großer Teile der Gesellschaft sein. Dies ist weder medizinisch, noch (volks-)wirtschaftlich oder aus Gründen gesellschaftlichen Miteinanders eine Lösung. Psychiatrie und Psychosomatik alleine werden nicht alle Antworten geben können. Sie sind aber sehr wohl schon jetzt in der Lage, die Bausteine für eine Versorgung inmitten der Gesellschaft bereitzustellen.
