Angewandtes Lernen bezüglich entstehender Tourismusmärkte in Kenia im Rahmen einer Exkursion

Abstract

Zusammenfassung Im Sommersemester 2019 führten die Autoren eine Exkursion mit Studierenden des dualen Studienganges Tourismuswirtschaft nach Kenia durch. Vor Ort wurden unterschiedliche touristische Attraktionen, wie beispielsweise die Masai Mara und der Hell’s Gate National Park, besucht und gemeinsam mit einem kenianischen Reiseveranstalter Start-Up auf Markttauglichkeit für den deutschen Quellmarkt hin analysiert. Im Vorfeld und während der Exkursion bearbeiteten die Studierenden Forschungsfragen mit unterschiedlichen thematischen Ausrichtungen und gemeinsam mit Studierenden einer kenianischen Universität wurden die Ergebnisse im Rahmen eines Kongresses am Ende der Exkursion vorgestellt. Darüber hinaus erfolgte ein mehrtägiger Besuch und intensiver Austausch mit dem Sozialunternehmen Mully Children’s Family, welches unter anderem mehrere Kinderheime betreibt.
