Abstract

Zusammenfassung Im Frühjahr 2005 entstand eine neue interessante Alternative für die Schaltung von Online- Werbung. Genauer gesagt war es ein Netzwerk aus vielen Millionen Internetseiten, die am Google-AdSense-Programm teilnahmen und Werbeflächen zur Verfügung stellten bzw. vermieteten, welche dann über AdWords (heute Google Ads) von Google versteigert wurden. Im Unterschied zum bis dahin einzigen Abrechnungsmodell von Google, bei dem der Werbetreibende pro angeklickter Anzeige bezahlen musste, wurde die websitebezogene Werbung pro 1.000 Einblendungen abgerechnet, so wie bei anderen Anbietern auch. Im November 2007 benannte Google diese Werbeform zunächst um in „placement-bezogenes Targeting“, dann in „Placement-Targeting“ und schrieb hierzu auf seiner Website.
