Abstract

Zusammenfassung Die zunehmende Massenmotorisierung und ansteigender Wohlstand standen jahrelang in einem kausalen Zusammenhang, sodass erstere überwiegend positiv konnotiert wurde. Inzwischen geht die umfangreiche Nutzung privater Personenkraftwagen im städtischen Kontext jedoch mit mannigfaltigen Problemen einher. Die verkehrsinduzierten Belastungen umfassen bspw. Lärm- und Schadstoffemissionen oder Kapazitätsengpässe. Diese Belastungen führen zu wirtschaftlichen Verlusten und zu einer Verringerung der Lebensqualität in Ballungszentren.
