Abstract

Zusammenfassung Zeitgenössische Kunst – Contemporary Art – und hier wiederum der spezifische Markt stellten einen Themenbereich großen öffentlichen Interesses dar. Im Hinblick auf die wirtschaftliche Bedeutung kann von einem Volumen der dort realisierten Transaktionen von kontinuierlich über 60 Milliarden Dollar ausgegangen werden, für das Jahr 2019 wird ein Umsatz von 64,1 Milliarden berichtet (McAndrew, 2020). Allerdings beruht bereits diese Zahl nur z.T. auf empirisch gesicherten Daten wie auch die Einbeziehung der einzelnen Kategorien kritisch diskutiert wird.
