Abstract

Zusammenfassung Viel hat man bisher getan, um das Wesen des Geldes einer Kreditgeldwirtschaft zu erklären. Bisher ohne durchschlagenden Erfolg. Die lang währende Unfähigkeit der Theorie, das heutige Geld zu erfassen, ist laut dem Fribourger Geldtheoretiker Bernard Schmitt letztlich verantwortlich für die inzwischen auch öffentlich wahrnehmbaren ökonomischen und politischen Fehlentwicklungen der Finanzwirtschaft. Seit einigen Jahren ist die Geldwirtschaft in der Krise, wie es der Bankier Johann Philipp von Bethmann bereits Ende des 20. Jahrhunderts richtig prognostiziert hatte.
