Abstract

Zusammenfassung Wissenschaftliche Institutionen nehmen im Kontext der Verbraucherwissenschaften eine zentrale Rolle ein. Hochschulen und außerhochschulische Forschungseinrichtungen widmen sich verbraucherbezogenen Themenstellungen dabei mit einem breiten Spektrum von Aktivitäten in der Forschung, bei Lehre und Studium sowie im Rahmen des Wissens- und Technologietransfers. Wesentliches Kennzeichen verbraucherwissenschaftlicher Aktivitäten ist das hohe Maß an erforderlicher Inter- und Transdisziplinarität, um die Komplexität der entsprechenden Lebensbereiche der Verbraucherinnen und Verbraucher entsprechend berücksichtigen zu können. Die tatsächliche Vielfalt dieser Aktivitäten wurde bislang nur ansatzweise empirisch erhoben. Neben grundsätzlichen Anforderungen hinsichtlich des wissenschaftlichen Vorgehens ist im Rahmen der Verbraucherwissenschaften seitens der wissenschaftlichen Institutionen auch die besondere Rolle der Verbraucherinnen und Verbraucher zu berücksichtigen.
