Abstract

Zusammenfassung Aufgrund der Unterschiede zwischen Sport und eSport muss auch die Kommunikation unterschiedlich ausgestaltet sein und sich beispielsweise an der jungen Generation und der Komplexität der Spiele ausrichten. Als Kanäle stehen neben der klassischen Pressemitteilung insbesondere Social Media und Videoportale zur Verfügung. Obwohl der Charme des eSports in der Internationalität und dem grenzüberschreitenden Enthusiasmus liegt, sind lokale Themen wichtig wie nie zuvor. Der Leitsatz „think globally, act locally“ ergibt daher auch bei der Kommunikationsstrategie Sinn. Für diese lokalen Themen arbeitet die ESL mit Universitäten, Politikern, Elternverbänden oder beispielsweise der USK zusammen, um passende Kampagnen umzusetzen, Workshops zu veranstalten und Interessenten zu informieren.
