Abstract

Zusammenfassung Controllingsystem und Klöster scheinen auf den ersten Blick nichts gemein zu haben. Bei näherer Betrachtung ergibt sich durchaus ein anderes Bild. Besonders die Gemeinschaften der Benediktiner zeichnen sich durch den Anspruch an wirtschaftliche Selbstständigkeit zur Sicherung ihrer Unabhängigkeit aus. Handwerkliche Arbeit wurde von Benedikt von Nursia sogar als Mittel zur Herstellung einer inneren Balance befürwortet. Allerdings stellt die Belastung durch komplexe wirtschaftliche Umweltbedingungen, sinkende Renditen, Nachwuchsprobleme und Überalterung die Führung der Klöster heute vor große Herausforderungen. Die Einführung eines Controllingsystems als Instrument der Managementunterstützung erscheint naheliegend. Damit einhergehende Veränderungsprozesse können zu Widerständen führen und sind entsprechend sorgfältig vorzubereiten. In diesem Artikel soll auf die besonderen Rahmenbedingungen benediktinischer Gemeinschaften eingegangen und daraus Handlungsempfehlungen für die Gestaltung eines Controllingsystems im Kloster abgeleitet werden.
