Abstract

Zusammenfassung Working Capital Management ist ein wirksames Instrument zur Stärkung der Innenfinanzierungskraft und genießt in der betrieblichen Praxis nach wie vor eine sehr hohe Bedeutung. Häufig werden die mit dem Working Capital Management verbundenen Erwartungen und Ziele in der Praxis jedoch nicht erfüllt. Ein wesentlicher Grund hierfür ist die Fokussierung auf lokale operative Handlungsfelder. Working Capital Management muss in erster Linie als Ansatz verstanden werden, der über die reine Optimierung einzelner Bilanzpositionen hinausgeht. Deshalb rücken die dem Lebenszyklus von Forderungen, Verbindlichkeiten und Vorräten zugrunde liegenden Prozesse in den Mittelpunkt der Betrachtung. Vor diesem Hintergrund werden zwei Ansätze betrachtet. Working Capital Management 2.0 fokussiert Maßnahmen mit einem hohen Automatisierungs-, Digitalisierungs- und Innovationspotenzial. SMART Production ermöglicht eine signifikante Reduktion der Kapitalbindung im Bereich des Anlagevermögens über die drei Sichten Finanzierung, Organisation und Technologie.
