Abstract

Zusammenfassung Wie Hirzebruch nach Zürich kam, Schüler von Heinz Hopf wurde, wie es ihm in Zürich erging und was er dort lernte, hat er selbst berichtet. Er spricht von »zwei der erlebnisreichsten und intensivsten Jahre meines Lebens«. Der bereits erwähnte Bericht über meine Zeit in der Schweiz. . . ist sehr persönlich gehalten, gibt ein anschauliches Bild von Hirzebruchs Leben, Studium und Kontakten in dieser Zeit und beleuchtet darüber hinaus die Situation im Nachkriegsdeutschland, als das Schlimmste überwunden war und »es wieder aufwärtsging«.
