Abstract

Zusammenfassung Im Gegensatz zu vielen (Internet-)Unternehmen schaffte es Amazon, sehr unterschiedliche und voneinander zum Teil völlig unabhängige Geschäftsmodelle aufzubauen. Die Grundlage dafür ist die Organisation dieser Geschäftsmodelle auf einer Plattform mit flachen Hierarchien und der gleichen Backbone-Infrastruktur. Diese Plattform-Struktur ist so aufgebaut, dass sowohl bestehende und bereits erfolgreiche als auch ganz neue Geschäftsmodelle weiterentwickelt werden können. Das machte Amazon zu einem der erfolgreichsten Beispiele der Plattform-Ökonomie. Wie die Amazon-Plattform konkret aussieht und was sie so wertvoll macht, zeigen wir in diesem Kapitel.
