Abstract

Zusammenfassung Seit dem Jahr 1994 bis heute gehört Amazon zu einem der wenigen Unternehmen der Welt, die ein stabiles zweistelliges Wachstum verzeichnen. Das schnelle Wachstum stellte Amazon vor größere Herausforderungen. Während Amazon viele Ressourcen in den Aufbau der internen Organisation und Prozesse investierte, expandierte das Unternehmen sowohl in neue Länder als auch Märkte. Als Ergebnis besitzt Amazon heute die marktführende Position u. a. im Online-Handel und den Cloud-Dienstleistungen in Ländern wie den USA und Deutschland. Möglich ist dieses Wachstum durch eine große Innovationskraft, Risikobereitschaft und den Mut, Märkte mittels einer sehr langfristigen Strategie zu revolutionieren. Diese Eigenschaften kommen von Jeff Bezos direkt, der diese Vision verwirklichte. In diesem Kapitel wird dargestellt, wie außergewöhnlich das Wachstum von Amazon ist und warum die Persönlichkeit des Amazon-Gründers Jeff Bezos die gesamte Unternehmensentwicklung fördert.
