Abstract

Zusammenfassung Medizintechnik dominiert heutzutage immer mehr medizinische Behandlungsformen, insbesondere in der Krebstherapie. Viele Menschen sehen in diesem Trend vorrangig den Aspekt der Entfremdung von Arzt und Patient. Parallel dazu hat sich jedoch, gerade wegen dieser Technisierung, eine methodisch extrem sorgfältige Therapieplanung als zwingende Notwendigkeit ergeben. Geplant wird eine auf den einzelnen Patienten präzise zugeschnittene Behandlung – der einzelne Mensch steht also mehr denn je im Blickpunkt des ärztlichen Interesses, wenn auch in einer abstrakteren Form. Sorgfältige und verlässliche Therapieplanung für jeden einzelnen Patienten verlangt in der Regel eine enge Kooperation der Medizin mit Mathematik und Informatik. Die Arbeitsgruppe des Autors am Konrad-Zuse-Zentrum für Informationstechnik (ZIB) ist in zahlreiche mathematisch-informatische Projekte mit der Medizin eingebunden. Der folgende Beitrag gibt einen Einblick in die Therapieplanung am ausgewählten Beispiel der Krebstherapie Hyperthermie.
