Abstract

Zusammenfassung Unter den drei großen Rechtsgebieten – dem Öffentlichen Recht, dem Privatrecht und dem Strafrecht – ist das Umweltrecht im Wesentlichen dem Öffentlichen Recht zuzuordnen. Sowohl was die praktische Relevanz, als auch was den Normumfang und die Regelungsintensität betrifft, finden sich die weitaus meisten und gewichtigsten umweltrechtlichen Normen im Bereich des Verwaltungsrechts, welches wiederum dem Öffentlichen Recht zugehört. Das Privatrecht und das Strafrecht demgegenüber enthalten zwar auch umweltrechtliche Regelungen; auf diese soll hier aber nur am Rande eingegangen werden (s. auch Abschn. 14.4.1 und 14.4.2).
