Abstract

Zusammenfassung Die Modellierung von komplexen Systemen gewinnt in der Industrieforschung zunehmend an Bedeutung.Dabei wird nach dem folgenden Schema vorgegangen (Abb. 1): In einem ersten Schritt wird das zu untersuchende Problem (zum Beispiel die Elastizität von Fasern) auf ein abstraktes Modell abgebildet, das im allgemeinen aus einem Gleichungssystem besteht. Die dabei erhaltenen Gleichungen werden dann im zweiten Schritt gelöst. Dies ist meist nur numerisch zu bewältigen und stellt die klassische Domäne für den Einsatz von Mathematik in der Modellierung, ja sogar in der ganzen Industrieforschung dar. In einem letzten Schritt gilt es dann, die gefundenen Lösungen für die Modellgleichungen in Hinblick auf das zu lösende reale Problem zu interpretieren und so einen Beitrag zur zu einer Verfahrens- oder Produktverbesserung zu leisten.
