Abstract

Zusammenfassung Die Anfänge einer koordinierten Lichtsignalanlagensteuerung liegen bald 50 Jahre zurück. Bereits im Jahr 1949 wurde in Denver im US-Bundesstaat Colorado eine koordinierte Signalsteuerung vorgenommen, wobei 125 Knoten aus 10 Verkehrssektoren in die Koordinierung einbezogen waren. Die Programme hatten 6 verschiedene Umlaufzeiten und 4 Phasenverschiebungen zur Anpassung der einzelnen Signalsteuerungen. Mit ähnlichen Ansätzen wurden im Jahr 1952 in Baltimore im US-Bundesstaat Maryland 850 Knoten aus 100 Verkehrssektoren mit insgesamt 8 Gebietszentralen in die koordinierte Signalsteuerung einbezogen [SH77].
