Abstract

Zusammenfassung In seinem „Zahlbericht“1) hat Hilbert die Kummerschen Gedanken und Ansätze in allen Punkten herausgearbeitet, vervollständigt und weiter entwickelt. Nur das Kummersche Kriterium der Lösung des Fermatschen Problems für den Fall, daß die rationalen Zahlen zugrunde gelegt werden, ist von ihm nicht wiedergegeben worden 2). Ich möchte im folgenden zeigen, wie alle notwendigen Sätze zur Herleitung des Kummerschen Resultates sich im Zahlbericht finden, und wie mit wenigen Strichen aus denselben das Kriterium von Kummer entspringt. Ja, noch mehr! Auch die Mirimanoffsche Form und das Wieferich-Furtwänglersche Kriterium ergeben sich sofort, wobei für letzteres viel weniger als das Eisensteinsche Reziprozitätsgesetz notwendig ist. Ich füge noch neue Formen des Kriteriums an, die mir interessant erscheinen.
