Abstract

Zusammenfassung 1928 habe ich zum ersten Male eine Definition der Multiplizität. eines Schnittpunktes von zwei Mannigfaltigkeiten M d und M n−d im projektiven Raum S n gegeben und bewiesen, daß die Summe der Multiplizitäten der Schnittpunkte gleich dem Produkt der Gradzahlen ist1). Mein Beweis beruhte auf einem einfachen Grundgedanken von G. Schaake, benutzte aber daneben schwierige, meist idealtheoretische Hilfsmittel. 1933 gab Severi2), von derselben Multiplizitätsdefinition ausgehend, einen einfacheren, auf dem Chasles-Schubertschen Korrespondenzprinzip beruhenden Beweis. Ich werde nun im ersten Teil dieser Arbeit zeigen, daß mein ursprünglicher Beweis sich unter Beibehaltung des Grundgedankens, aber unter Vermeidung der Idealtheorie so sehr vereinfachen läßt, daß er an Kürze und Natürlichkeit nichts zu wünschen übrig läßt (§§ 1 bis 3).
