Abstract

Boundary element methods are well suited for complicated industrial applications due to the reduction to the boundary. For geometric substructering we formulate a related domain decomposition method and a hierarchical preconditioned iterative solver. For the presentation of the problem and the control of the boundary conditions as well as for the computational results we developed a suitable visualization-tool. For a crank-shaft computation, the domain decomposition method is compared with a sequential and a parallel version of the standard boundary element method.
