Abstract

Zusammenfassung Abel fuhr mit in die Dolomiten. Durch die großartige Landschaft in Hochstimmung geraten, schrieben sich die „jungen Gelehrten“ im Wirtshaus „Goldenes Schiff“ in Predazzo mit den Berufen ein, die sie einmal zu erreichen hofften: „Keilhau, professore della mineralogia, Boeck, professore dell’arte veterinaria, Abel, professore della geometria.“ Der Wirt vom „Goldenen Schiff“ notierte nur fünf „studenti da Norvegia.“ Die Stadt Predazzo war ein unter Geologen bekannter Ort und Abel und seine Freunde blieben drei Tage. Für Keilhau war es wichtig, neben den Gebirgsformationen das Bergwerk Agardo in Augenschein zu nehmen.
