Abstract

Zusammenfassung Kurz nach dem Abitur im Herbst 1859 immatrikulierte sich Sophus Lie an Det kongelige Fredriks Universitet in Christiania. Über seine Überlegungen zur Wahl des Studienfachs ist nicht viel mehr bekannt, als dass er sich - wie sein bester Freund Ernst Motzfeldt berichtete - zunächst durchaus vorstellen konnte, Philologie zu studieren. Die beiden frischgebackenen Studenten Ernst und Sophus hatten tibrigens nach dem Abitur, bevor die Vorlesungen an der Universität begannen, eine gemeinsame Wanderung unternommen - durch Asker nach Drammen, Kongsberg und dann über Ringerike wieder zurück.
