Abstract

Zusammenfassung Zu den Grundaufgaben der linearen Algebra gehört die Auflösung linearer Gleichungssysteme. Am Beginn einer systematischen Untersuchung dieses Problems steht bekanntlich die Einführung des heute so unentbehrlichen Hilfsmittels der Determinanten, die zu einer formelmäßigen Auflösung linearer Gleichungssysteme in Gestalt der Cramerschen Regel führen. Mit ihr finden indessen nur die einfachsten Verhältnisse ihre Erledigung. Die volle Klärung aller mit den linearen Gleichungen zusammenhängenden Fragen konnte erst viel später mit Hilfe des Rangbegriffes herbeigeführt werden. Bevor wir hierzu übergehen, wollen wir uns die einfachen Tatsachen des Regelfalles ins Gedächtnis rufen.
