The Extension Problem for Compact Submanifolds of Complex Manifolds I

Abstract

Let X be a compact, complex submanif old of a V. We wish to consider over X certain analytic objects, such as: (i) a holomorphic vector bundle E → X (the notations are explained in § 1 below); (ii) a subspace S ⊂ H q (X, ε); or (iii) a holomorphic mapping f: X → Y for some complex manifold Y. The extension problem we consider is, given an analytic object a over X, to find a corresponding analytic object β over V such that β restricted to X gives α.
