Relationship Between Fixed-Asset Investment and Environmental Quality Based on EKC

Abstract

Taking Beijing as an example, this paper studied the impact of fixed-assets investment on the environment. The study found that the relationship between emission of sulfur dioxide and fixed-asset investment per capita, emission of industrial solid waste and fixed-asset investment per capita followed the inverted – U curve; the relationship between chemical oxygen demand and fixed-asset investment per capita, industrial waste water and fixed-asset investment per capita, industrial waste gas and fixed-asset investment per capita followed the U-shaped curve.
