Abstract

Network design problems are a highly complex task in the logistic and transport project, e.g., the high speed railway, the planning and developing of the highway and the facility location. This paper develops a multi-objective optimization model for the network design problem which includes classical capacitated facility location and the entropy of network structure. To solve this problem, we propose a heuristic algorithm that can be applied in the tactical and the operational planning phase, and present the results of an extensive experimentation.
