A Direct Sum of Sequential Matrix Method for Mixed-Model Workshop Layout

Abstract

To address the process conflict in mixed-model workshop, we propose a method to identify the production processes causing conflict based on a direct sum algorithm of sequential matrix. We test the method with a numerical example, and our results show that the proposed method improve the designs of production line workshop layout.
