Abstract

Zusammenfassung Apollonios schuf mit seinen 8 Büchern der Conica das grundlegende Werk zur Kegelschnittlehre, die erst sehr viel später durch die Einführung von Koordinatensystemen erweitert werden konnte. Kepler studierte die Theorie der Kegelschnitte intensiv, bis er die nach ihm benannten Kepler-Gesetze formulieren konnte (Astronomia Nova 1609). Isaac Newton bestätigte sein Gravitationsgesetz 1686 mit Hilfe des dritten Kepler-Gesetzes.
