Abstract

Research may be defined as a careful and systematic process of inquiry to find answers to problems of interest. There are six common types of research designs, namely case studies, surveys, experiments, correlational research, causal-comparative research and historical research. Each has its unique strengths and weaknesses in the ability to describe, predict, explain, interpret or demystify phenomena while some are more qualitative or quantitative than others (Tan 2004). This chapter presents the research design and methodology selected for the research, given the constraints and nature of the study.
