Abstract

Communication serves primarily to reach the project objectives. Communication models of Shannon and Weaver, Osgood, Schramm, Verma, Jenni and Mehrabian are analysed. The Hymnes’ conscious and unconscious communication model in a dyadic transactional communication between the sender and receiver is chosen for further considerations. The dynamic model of Berne Transactional Analysis (TA) serves the purpose of the analysis and controlled behaviour. An impact of informal roles, medium channel (visual, auditive, kinaesthetic) and cultural dimensions (context, procedural, socio-technical and spatial) on communication is further considered. The receiver perception, viewed through the Schulz von Thun four-ear-model and receiver distortions are treated. Techniques presented in this chapter include sender’s MBTI-oriented communication, visualisation, verbalisation, oral communication, active listening, feedback, paraphrase, mirroring and non-verbal techniques, Examples of Templates, Checklists and Bibliography close the Chapter.
