Leadership and the Importance of Example

Abstract

Low has highlighted that one of the classic leadership errors or what he terms as “sins” is that of not setting the example. When leaders do not set the right example, their credibility and integrity would be affected. Some leaders practise “do as I tell you”, not “do as I do”. If followers question their leaders’ honesty and integrity, leaders cannot be role models.
