Abstract

Zusammenfassung Konstroktionsprobleme sind immer ein beliebter Gegenstand der Geometrie gewesen. Wie sich der Leser aus seiner Schulzeit erinnern wird, läßt sich allein mit Zirkel und Lineal eine große Mannigfaltigkeit von Konstruktionen ausftihren. Strecken oder Winkel können halbiert werden, von einem Punkt aus kann ein Lot auf eine gegebene Gerade gefällt werden, ein reguläres Sechseck kann einem Kreis einbeschrieben werden u. a. m. Bei all diesen Aufgaben wird das Lineal nur als geradlinige Kante benutzt, als Instrument zum Ziehen gerader Linien, nicht zum Messen oder Abtragen von Entfemungen. Die traditionelle Beschränkung auf Zirkel und Lineal allein geht schon auf das Altertum zurück, obwohl die Griechen seIber sich nicht scheuten, auch andere Hilfsmittel zu benutzen.
