Abstract

Auszug Liebe Meg, wie Du wahrscheinlich schon geahnt hast, war ich sehr glücklich über Deine Absicht, Mathematik zu studieren, denn das bedeutet, dass all die Wochen nicht vergeudet sind, die Du vor ein paar Jahren damit zugebracht hast, immer wieder Die Zeitfalte zu lesen, und auch nicht all die Stunden, in denen ich versuchte, Dir Hyperwürfel und höhere Dimensionen zu erklären. Statt Deine Fragen in der Reihenfolge zu beantworten, in der Du sie gestellt hast, will ich zuerst auf die praxisnächste unter ihnen eingehen: Gibt es jemanden außer mir, der mit Mathematik seinen Lebensunterhalt verdienen kann?
