Abstract

At the start of 2001, Degussa AG was newly created as a consortium from the corporates Degussa AG (original), Hüls AG and SKW AG. It became one of the largest Specialty Chemicals companies in the world and is now a major part of Evonik Industries. The consolidation of personnel from long-established, independent and successful former companies into the new Degussa was accompanied by numerous integration activities. One of these was the early implementation of an employee survey. From the very outset, it was designed as a communication and measuring tool in the integration process and over the years became synonymous with the process itself.
