Abstract

This chapter discusses the evolution of the concept and practice of CSR in Turkey. It addresses the political, economic and social developments of CSR from Turkish's perspective. It provides an overview on the roles of public and private sector organizations and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) as well as the way in which Turkish culture in terms of philanthropy compliments the practice of CSR. The chapter also provides some concrete examples of the practice of CSR in corporate Turkey with some concluding remarks on the concept's current status in Turkey.
