Abstract

Summary The common experiment of a granular flow in a vertical tube is modified. The grains are submitted to the joint action of both gravity and upward air flux. While searching their equilibrium, the grains form clogs. A space-time analysis of the phenomenon is conducted. One-dimensional simulations of the experiment are presented. The influence of several parameters is discussed.
