Abstract

Network systems are getting more and more complex and relatively inefficient. Therefore, networks will need to be controlled and managed, namely network management (NM) technologies are necessary. As the network systems require scaleable, flexible and economic solutions, the conventional NM methods are becoming more and more inadequate to solve these problems. The emerging intelligent agent paradigm seems to be a solution. In this paper, we discuss and investigate the feasibilities of constructing an agent-based paradigm for network management.
