Abstract

Zusammenfassung 1974 stellte der bisher vor allem aus der Verwaltungsorganisation und Rechtssoziologie bekannte Niklas Luhmann einem Publikum von Künstlern, Linguisten, Literaturwissenschaftlern und philosophischen Experten für Ästhetik eine verblüffende Frage: “Ist Kunst codierbar?”1. Die Literaturwissenschaft hat gut ein Jahrzehnt gebraucht, um diese Frage aufzugreifen. Das überrascht nicht, denn in einer nahezu einmaligen Traditionslosigkeit werden Kunst, Literatur und Ästhetik in eine völlig neue Perspektive gestellt.
