Abstract

Zusammenfassung Aventis, HypoVereinsbank, DaimlerChrysler, Danzas-DHL-Deutsche Post, Novartis, E.ON, Vodafone, Tiscali — wer kennt sie nicht, die prominenten Beispiele für die Mergers & Acquisitions der letzten Jahre. Hinzu kommen eine ganze Reihe weiterer Zusammenschlüsse und Zukäufe, die ohne große Anteilnahme der Öffentlichkeit vonstatten gingen. Bis etwa Mitte der 90er Jahre bewegte sich das M&A-Volumen weltweit — mit kleinen Ausnahmen — auf einem annähernd gleichen, niedrigen Niveau. 1994 stieg die M&A-Tätigkeit zunächst langsam, aber stetig, später jedoch während des New-Economy-Booms sprunghaft an.
